Annual CS Department Picnic a Success

Posted in:

2012's annual CS Department picnic had a great turnout.  Taking place on Tuesday, Sept 11, more than 100 students and faculty participated in the event.  A meal of fried chicken, fresh watermelon, and assorted desserts was catered by Lexmark International, one of the department's industrial partners.  The weather for the event was warm and sunny, and those in attendance enjoyed eating and socializing in the shade of the department's new Marksbury Building.

William Avant-McMilliam and other students at the picnicOne student in attendance was freshman William Arant-McMilliam.  William came to the picnic in order to meet those who will be his classmates for the next few years, and for the great food, of course.  "I don't have much experience with computers," William admitted, "so I know it's going to be important to have friends in the department who can help me along the way."  He added that the department seems to have a "great community."

The CS department thanks all those who made the 2012 department picnic another fantastic event!
